Lainie Ettema is an interdisciplinary, conceptual artist from Michigan. Through oil paint, sculpture, and digital processes, she transcends conventions, stimulating conversations about gender, sexuality, and violence inflicted on the body. A dedicated activist, Ettema seamlessly integrates her art with a resolute commitment to social change, having participated in public art projects, protests, and other political initiatives. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art and Design from Alma College and is currently continuing her artistic pursuits as a Master of Fine Arts candidate at the University of Florida.​​
